Welcome

Welcome to my personal research web site. My name is Andreu Blanco, I was born in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands (Spain). Now I'm a "galician-adopted" researcher living in Vigo, Galicia (Spain).

I hold a PhD in Marine Ecology from the University of the Balearic Islands (Suma Cum Laude, graduation on 2014). I undertook my PhD research in the Institute of Marine Research (IIM) from the Spanish National Council of Scientific Research (CSIC).

My research interests focus on marine ecology, conservation and marine protected areas.

My background knowledge:

  • Implications of climate change and invasive species in shallow waters in the Mediterranean Sea.

  • Key physicochemical and feeding factors for the survival and performance of cultured seahorses, Hippocampus guttulatus.

  • Stable isotope analysis in ecology studies.
